Shy Fecteau has called the High Country home for over 10 years, blending her local real estate expertise with a passion for special places. Since joining Appalachian Properties in 2017, she’s built an impressive career, elected as the youngest MLS President in the history of the High Country Association of Realtors, as well earning recognition by her peers as Realtor of the Year in 2021.
Specializing in residential, land, new construction, and developer sales, Shy has recently focused on premier communities like Chappell Farms and Blackberry Homestead. She’s also an Airbnb Superhost, offering clients firsthand insights into rental investments and hospitality. Compounding her professional experience with service to her neighbors, Shy is President of Chappell Farms POA and well captain in Foscoe’s Sleepy Hollow community. Shy’s love for her community has led her to chairing the Communications Committee of the Avery County Long Term Recovery Group for Hurricane Helene.
Most importantly, Shy prioritizes bringing good spirit and outdoor experiences into her workplace. When she’s not working, Shy enjoys her home life in Banner Elk, snowboarding the slopes or hiking the terrain, with her partner of 12 years and two golden retrievers. Her creative background and love for nature inspires her personalized approach, helping clients find investments that fit their lifestyle goals.
Whether you're buying, selling, planning, or developing, Shy’s dedication and expertise will light the way to your next adventure.
